We are reaching a point in history where we are seeing alternatives to the idea of nation-states as governing bodies and cooperation on a global level. According to thought leader Don Tapscott in his recent speech at SXSW Interactive 2013, there is an urgency to rethink our aging global institutions. This is already happening in the form of new organizations that transcend national boundaries, and even our model of the organization, into what Mr. Tapscott calls multi-stakeholder networks (MSNs). I described this notion in prior posts right after SXSW last year, and need to return to it on its anniversary.
