London Shops to the Top

The retail industry continues to predict an increase in online shopping in the UK despite concerns over the macroeconomic outlook. Retailers enjoyed a 25% boost to online sales in 2010 – almost double the increase in the US, and this trend is expected to continue in 2011 as shoppers continue turn to online retail in their search for better value. But with an estimated 15%-40% of clothing purchased online making their way back as returns, retailers are turning to technology to improve the purchasing experience.

eBay’s Fashion app for the iPhone uses augmented technology (AR) to allow users to pose in virtual sunglasses before making a purchase. Other retailers like watchmakers and jewelers are using AR to help influence the customer purchasing process.

Other retail apps are also making waves, with GPS location and real-time product information making the shopping experience as convenient as ever. Take a look at NoNeedForMirrors, a multiple award-winning fashion retail app specialist in the UK.
